Managing HDB Season Parking Transactions: A Comprehensive Guide

Why Season Parking?

The short term parking rates are as follows:

• Outside Central Area: $0.60 per half-hour.

• Within Central Area (7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Saturday): $1.20 per half-hour.

• Within Central Area (Other hours): $0.60 per half-hour.

• Night Parking (10:30 pm to 7:00 am): Capped at $5 per night in car parks with the Night Parking Scheme.

• Day parking is capped at $12 for non-Central Area car parks and $20 for Central Area car parks

Season Parking Rates are as follows:

• Season parking charges for commercial vehicles with an unladen weight exceeding 1,800kg are $185 per month

• Surface Car Park: $80 per month

• Sheltered Car Park: $110 per month

Even by calculating the simplest night charge at $5 per day, you will already be saving at least $40 per month.

Buying pro rated season parking

If you've just purchased a vehicle mid-month, there's a smart way to get the most out of your season parking. When signing up, choose the long-term season parking option, and be sure to set the start date as the current month and the end date as the following month.

This way, you'll enjoy parking for the rest of the current month at a pro-rated rate, rather than paying the full amount upfront. Just a heads-up: once selected, the dates cannot be changed, so make sure to complete this step correctly during your first purchase of season parking.

Transferring season parking to another vehicle.

If you often switch between vehicles or your car is currently in the workshop and you're using a replacement, don’t worry — HDB allows you to temporarily transfer your season parking to a different vehicle.

For a temporary transfer, the process is simple if the replacement is the same vehicle type (e.g., car to car). Simply head to HDB's temporary transfer portal and fill up their request form. You can always select a longer temporary transfer period and cancel the transfer anytime if you swapped back to the original car earlier.

However, if you're transferring to a different vehicle type (e.g., from a car to a van), you’ll need to submit a request via the HDB feedback form. The good news? Their team usually responds promptly during office hours. You may consider the following template:

" Dear Sirs, I would like to temporarily transfer season parking from [VRN1] with IU number 1234567891 to [VRN2] with IU number 1234567892 from DDMMYYYY to DDMMYYYY as the original vehicle is in workshop for repairs. The two vehicle are of different types and I would need your assistance to manually transfer. Thank you"

Do note that HDB may contact you via phone to verify some details.

If you've permanently changed vehicles, you can choose the permanent transfer option in the system. Do note: this action is irreversible, and there may be restrictions on additional transfers within a short period, so be sure to proceed with care..

Transferring season parking to another car park.

If you need to change your place of residence or work for a short period, there's no need to cancel and repurchase a new season parking. HDB allows you to temporarily transfer your existing season parking to your new car park seamlessly. Do note: this action may be restrictions on additional transfers within a short period.

Do not attempt to repeatedly change vehicle carpark in bid to save on parking fees as HDB would not allow frequent changing of Carparks.

If you've recently changed your place of residence or work, there's no need to cancel and repurchase a new season parking. You can permanently transfer your existing season parking to your new car park intead.

Cancellation of season parking

If you no longer require your season parking, you can choose to cancel your season parking anytime. Upon cancellation, you'll receive a pro-rated refund for any unused parking days.

However, a word of caution: If you cancel a season parking for a specific car, you may not be able to repurchase it for the same vehicle in the same or even the following month.
